Starting any business is extremely difficult and involves a steep learning curve – starting and running a child care center or any other form of child care business is no different and I aim to make that process easier for all you would-be child care operators by sharing my many years of child care knowledge and experience.

A little about me/us – my name is Fiona Lohrenz and I am mother to a crazy toddler and have been running my own child care center for the past 10 years. Steve is my better half and the software developer/technical whiz behind all our child care industry products. I came into the child care business with absolutely no knowledge of said industry and had to learn it all the hard way. I spent two years researching, writing my child care business plan and working in various day cares voraciously consuming every nugget of child care knowledge that came my way. Ten years of running my child care business later and I am still learning every day.
Acquiring the knowledge to start my child care business was really difficult, frustrating and time consuming and that is why I launched ChildCareOnly.com and my Start a Child Care DVD Guide plus Survival Pack.

I write some of the articles and also use some fabulous articles written by other professionals from the child care industry. The site also incorporates my child care blog and I try to comment on there as often as possible covering some of the day to day events I encounter in my child care business. It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how long I have been involved in child care each day brings new challenges and lessons. Running a day care could never be described as dull or routine.
