I have my montessori playschool for the last 12 yrs so feel the dvd would be little use to me but wondering if you have any books or leaflets in somebody in my situation?with the current health boards specifications I would like to bring my school in 21st century. thanks
DEAR FIONA. I,VE BEEN WORKING IN CHILD-CARE FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS. 2 YEARS AGO WE MOVED TO THE COUNTRY WERE I HAVE PLENTLY OF SPACE FOR A CRECHE. I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS FOR LONG TIME NOW BUT I'M AFAIRD TO PUT EVERYTHING INTO IT AND IT DOES NOT TAKE OFF. I LOVE CHILDREN AND I LOVE MY JOB VERY MUCH. I'M ONLY 28 AND ONE OF THE REASON FOR DOING THIS IS SO I A CAN BE AT HOME MORE AS I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MORE CHILDREN AND DO NOT WANT TO BE OUT OF THE HOUSE ALL DAY. ALSO YOUR BILLS EVERY MONTH ARE QUITE HIGH AND I HOPEING THIS MIGHT HELP US FINAICAL. I'VE FETC LEVEL 5 AND 6 AND ALSO MONTESSORI DONE. ANY HELP OR IDEAS YOU CAN GIVE ME WOULD BE GREAT. Denise, This website is my 'books and leaflets' i.e. pretty much everything I have to offer will show up here so keep checking in. I recently released a cd of all the paperwork required for running a child care facility if that would be of any benefit to you http://www.childcarepaperwork.com. Other than that, I would say use your local county childcare committee. Their job is to assist, educate and update child care providers. They run lots of courses and workshops so get on their mailing list. And don't forget that when you have your HSE inspections use the report as a guideline for improving your service – that's the whole point of the inspections.

But, before you do anything else….do your business plan. 99% of people 'think' about starting a business and many don't take off but you can eliminate the 'thinking' and minimise the 'not taking off' by doing your research and due diligence in the form of a business plan.
