New Staff

I've just gone through a period of losing a number of old staff and having to replace them with a new team.  It never rains but it pours!  Change is always hard as is the recruitment process especially in childcare when the right people are vital.  I've been fortunate and gathered together some great employees but it wasn't easy.  Still, going throught the steps of recruiting forced me to freshen up some of my staff paper work and update everybody, old and new. Aside from our normal staff induction including our policies and procedures I now have all new employees read the parent handbook and contract also.  That way everyone – me, staff and parents – are definitely on the same page.  Fresh blood brings fresh perspective and while the transition period can be difficult we should embrace change as an opportunity to break out of our staid routines and improve our service.
